Afternoon coffee drinkers and shoppers were treated to an impromptu reggae performance when Natty Wailer picked up his guitar for a photoshoot marking the launch of Oriel Live at the Market Square last Friday.

Natty, a close associate of the legendary Bob Marley and The Wailers, has been added to the exciting line-up of the re-scheduled Oriel Live concert now taking place in the Oriel Active Centre on Saturday, August 24.

Concert organiser Diarmuid Johnson says he hopes this will be just the first of many concerts to take place at the super-sized venue.

Originally scheduled to have taken place at the beginning of July after re-locating from Clones, Diarmuid said it was decided to postpone the concert in order to allow more time for planning and ticket sales.

With a line-up including Bressie and The Original Rudeboys, Shadowplay, Dirty Epics along with well known local acts such as Ben Reel, The Enemies, Dirty Epics and Third Smoke there will be over twenty more artists including DJs covering the two stages and two rooms within the venue throughout the day.

The concert is now taking place indoors in the impressive Oriel Active Centre which means that concert goers won’t have to worry about the weather.

Tickets are a reasonably priced €35 (plus booking) although there will be a limited amount of ‘early bird’ tickets available through Groupon.ie which will be priced at €19. However, these Groupon tickets are available for a very limited time only (from Tuesday, July 30 to Friday, August 2).

There is also a VIP package which includes a glass of champagne on arrival, free buffet (up until 8 p.m.) and access to private bar with balcony view, priced at €70 (plus booking).

There will be a very limited amount of VIP tickets on sale at half price on Groupon.ie on the same dates mentioned above. That’s €35 for the buffet and champagne and VIP access.

For group bookings you can contact the organisers through their website OrielLive.ie or Facebook.

The good news for any existing ticket holders is that their tickets have been automatically upgraded to the VIP package.

Tickets available through facebook/oriellive, www.oriellive.ie, www.ticketmaster.ie or Photospeed, Longwalk Shopping Centre, Dundalk.
